Water is the essence of life. Without water life, including us, cannot exist. Humans constantly need to consume it, utilize it and eliminate it. Unlike solid food, water cannot be stored in the body through breathing, sweating and urination. When we stop consuming water death is not far away. Water may bring the respite from thirst – but it also brings the infusion of life thus the intake of sufficient water is a key element in maintaining a healthy, vibrant lifestyle.
The body utilizes water to:
» regulate its temperature
» lubricate joints
» Complete the metabolic process including digestion, nutrient absorption and waste elimination
» Produce body fluids m including blood, sweat, tears, saliva, urine and mucus etc.
» Hydrate itself
Insufficient amounts of water results in:
» Calcification of the kidney
» Premature aging
» Recognize the importance of adequate water consumption in promoting good health. This factor should be built into your anti-aging program.
» Drink a minimum of 4-6 liters of water per day. If possible drink alkalized water with a pH around 8.0 to 8.5 (see d11 the Acid – Alkaline Balance). do not drink while eating since this will neutralize your stomach acids which are critic in correctly digesting your food. While eating drink a minimum of non-alkalized water, just to lubricate the throat.
» If plain water is not welcomed by your taste buds add a little natural lemon or lime juice.
